ICCSSA’s vision is to be the essential body for practicing statisticians, establishing a united and collaborative environment by recognising, empowering, providing true representation and continuously improving the competency of statisticians with the aim to be a respected, professional and a well governed organisation.
However, ICCSSA needs to prioritise its activities, and we therefore need to identify the areas in which we could provide the most value to our members and the statistical community at large. We would therefore appreciate your views on what is required by the statisticians in your organisation.
You have been purposefully selected, due to your support of ICCSSA as well as your profile within the statistical community, as a person who can provide insight into needs amongst practicing statisticians in South Africa. When filling in this questionnaire, please consider only the people within your team or organisation that are statisticians or are fulfilling statistical functions. This is not limited to people with statistical degrees and can include data capturers (e.g. preparation of survey data, and excluding IT functions), survey designers, researchers, analysts, modellers, and trainers. If you are answering on behalf of an academic organisation, please focus on the skills required by both academics and practitioners in the application of statistics.
